Secret agent girl

Here's a preview of my model (which I am now slowly rigging) from my 3D classes.

OoooOoooo, ambient occlusion...
My teacher, who wasn't the same teacher for the previous class, expressed concerns about the size of my character's head. "How would she put on a hat or fit through a door?" Very carefully, of course.

Her world would be similarly proportioned as she is, so the world she lives in would have doors that are wide enough for her head (and the heads of people of her species) to fit through.

I did actually scale her body to be a bit larger, though, after hearing those comments. Hopefully I'll be able to animate her alright. I could take into account her body proportions and have her move and run in a somewhat weighted manner, or I could ignore that and make her run very swiftly, as if the length of her legs were no hindrance at all...

There are actually tons of similarly-proportioned characters out there, but I was pretty surprised to discover that the characters in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker don't have heads as large as my secret agent girl!

  1. That's right, huh?? The Windwaker characters have completely wacked out proportions than your girl!! Maybe study gameplay to see how they moved them....and dayum, her hips ARE HIPS :O Good luck on animating those...
